Project 6- Final

  1. these images definitely tell a story. The chalking of the hands, the donning of the shoes, the hands and then feet on the climbing wall, the photos pf these two women ascending the wall and then you see one laying exhausted and the other smiling siting at a table. It tells the story of a good day climbing, and all the minutiae that go into that. The images are sequenced for maximum effect, since you can't have the next image without completing the tasks of the first. The constant presence of climbing gear and the colorful wall really unites the sequence, and all of the images are integral to the story being shown. The different ways things are photographed, though similar, give different types of pictures- like how the hands and feet are shown so close up, but the climbing and the aftermath photos are further away, creating variety in the sequence of images. The mood that these images create is one of triumph and contentment, these two girls obviously satisfied with their tiring day of climbing. Since there is no technical aspects to this story, many can relate to it, superimposing the memory of gearing up and competing in their own sports over the photos shown. This project could be improved by having more consistent lighting in the third and last photo since the third is a little dark and the last has a little too much exposure, but overall a great sequence of pictures!
